Gujarat Kabaddi League Officially Launched

Kabaddi in Gujarat has entered an exciting new chapter.

The Gujarat Kabaddi League (GKL) has officially been launched under the aegis of the Gujarat State Kabaddi Association (GSKA). The league will be developed and managed by PROSPORTZ Pvt. Ltd., which has received the exclusive rights to organize and operate the tournament.

Each franchise is available for ₹20 lakh on a first-come, first-served basis.


Gujarat Kabaddi League 2026 Format

The inaugural season is tentatively scheduled for September 2026.

According to the organizers:

  • Venue: Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Gujarat
  • Duration: 9 Days
  • Total Teams: 8
  • Total Matches: 31

The competition will follow a single round-robin format, where every team will face each other once during the league stage.

After the league matches:

  • Top 4 teams will qualify for the Playoffs.
  • The season will conclude with the Grand Final to decide the first-ever Gujarat Kabaddi League champions.

Player Auction and Team Composition

Every franchise will build its squad through a centralized player auction.

Each team will receive:

  • Player Purse: ₹5 lakh
  • Squad Size: 14 Players

The auction process has been designed to ensure competitive balance and provide equal opportunities to all franchises.


Prize Money

The Gujarat Kabaddi League will offer a total prize pool of:

₹25 lakh

The prize money will be shared between the Champion and Runner-up teams, making the competition even more exciting.
